Vaccines, anti-racism training, sessions, breakfast, volunteer!

A week until BiCon and I can't wait!
There are a few things that have been on the website for several months that some people have missed, so a quick reminder:
  • You must have proof of vaccine to attend BiCon on site, unless you have written medical exemption, or are under 12. Additionally, you must wear a mask according to the policy (in indoor spaces). This is to keep clinically vulnerable attendees safe. Follow this link, and the one under "Vaccines" to see how to get your covid pass.  (Recently edited to include Scottish Covid passes)
  • You must have attended some anti-racism training provided by BiCon since 2019 to attend BiCon, unless our anti-racism co-ordinator .
  • If you have not done both of these things, then you cannot attend.

BiCon Sessions
It's here! We have the provisional list of sessions that we'll be running at BiCon.
Check it out and start planning which sessions you're going to, although be aware that some times may change between now and BiCon.
Get prepared! A couple of our sessions would like you to do some homework in advance. For the BiCon Biscuit Swap, you can get baking and bring a box of your favourite biscuits to BiCon to share. And for the BiCon Book Group, you should prepare by reading some or all of Meg-John Barker's graphic novels: Queer, Sexuality, and Gender. Some of the other sessions ask you to bring stuff for the sessions, so take note of those if you want to go to them.
Want to run a session? There's still time although as you can see, spaces are filling up fast. If you have a session you want to run that we haven't included yet, you can email  We can't promise to include it, but we'll try.
Some sessions that we would be especially interested in people running are:
  • Safe-space sessions, especially for trans and/or non-binary bisexuals, bisexuals of colour, or neurodiverse bisexuals
  • Naked lunch
  • Bi parenting
  • Flirting workshop
  • Space to mark those we've lost since the last BiCon
If any of those feel like something you'd like to run, please get in touch.

Volunteering
BiCon is an entirely community-run event. Your awesome team are volunteers, and it can only happen if YOU volunteer too. If everyone doesn't play their part (as in, expecting some other attendee to do things) it will fall apart. Teams burn out, future BiCons don't happen.
There's loads of ways you can volunteer. We have tons of desk spaces left, which are vital to fill. If you want to volunteer, email  with the subject heading "Volunteer" with the slot you want, and our team will get back to you.
We also need gofers, listening team, session running – choose which sessions you want to go to and plan some volunteering as well!
Get involved, get excited!
See you next week,
Bethan
